• Do you have pets? Definitely! Caroline has a schnoodle named Charger and Joe’s family includes 2 dogs (Hunter & Max) and Annie, the rescue kitten.
• Is hosting a canister easy? It’s very easy. FFDAS volunteers Bill & Sharon Bollin are longtime family friends and are super to work with.
• Joe’s customers donated nearly $2,000 to our rescues in 2010. “I’m not surprised,” comments owner Joe Maiorana, “Our customers are very loyal and all of us here are all about our pets.”

Because of our “Donation Station” business partners, we truly believe that success comes in “cans”—canisters, that is.

Displaying a canister helps spread the good word about the Friends and the Dearborn Animal Shelter. Plus, the generosity of businesses and their customers helps us provide quality care for over 2,400 rescues each year, as well as launch new programs to assist companion animals and their pet parents.

In 2011, more than 85 businesses in Southeast Michigan displayed one of our canisters and helped raise almost $17,000.

tend to frequent establishments that form connections with nonprofits. Your
customers will notice!

How it “Can” work. Simply provide a prominent space to display our canister. A specifically designated Friends representative will pick up donations on a monthly (or as-needed) basis.
