What is the Caring Heart Club?

It is a multi-year giving society that allows supporters to create a unique and personal partnership with the Friends and the rescues cared for at the Dearborn Animal Shelter.

What is multi-year pledging?

The amount you pledge this year is the same amount you agree to pledge over the next 2 years.

Why the need for Caring Hearts?

Each year the number of animals who seek safe haven at the Dearborn Animal Shelter tends to increase. As a result, funds needed to maintain day-to-day operations increase as well. Your ongoing gift will help guarantee consistent and known sources of revenue.

What will the proceeds go toward?

Caring Heart dollars help fund day-to-day shelter needs, including:

• food and formula for 2,800 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens
• regular medical treatments, such as spaying and neutering, and vaccinations; plus, helping to offset the cost of emergency situations that might arise

Caring Hearts think outside the box!

For example, early one morning we noticed a sealed cardboard box sitting outside the shelter. We assumed it was a box of donated newspapers. Upon further inspection, we found a scrawled note on the top reading, “Please find her a good home.” Much to our surprise, the box contained a 10-week-old Shepherd puppy. We named her Mary Nell. Mary Nell’s owners trusted us with “very special cargo.” Trust that is buoyed by your Caring Hearts!
