The Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter uses positive reinforcement training for kittens. The instructor teaches loving, not harsh, training, which results in a happier and safer pet—making the whole family happier.

Requirements

Kittens must be up-to-date on required vaccines (FVRCP), be tested for FeLV and ringworm, and be flea free.

Location
All sessions are held at the Friends Pet Training Center next to Pet Supplies Plus in Dearborn.

Registration
You will be enrolled in the next class, unless otherwise arranged with the instructor. For a schedule of classes see our training schedule. A 20% discount is offered for kittens  adopted from the Dearborn Animal Shelter and registered volunteers with Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter.

Refund Policy
Once you attend the first class, there are NO REFUNDS.

Group Classes

Kitten 101 Class

For kittens between 8 and 16 weeks old

In this beginner class, kittens socialize with feline and human friends, and learn such tricks as sit, come, and shake hands. Plus, you learn tips in kitty care. New classes begin on the next available start date and continue on the same night of the week for 2 weeks. You must enroll and be present for all classes.
