Aimee-Joy and Perzia Warren

Aimee-Joy Warren

Marco (top perch) and Perzia Warren

Hello shelter folks,

I just wanted to send you a couple of pictures of Aimee-Joy and Perzia (Bertha at the shelter). They are both doing great.  Aimee has finally conquered her upper respiratory infection which took forever to go away.  She is still a big girl, but now that the litter boxes are finally all in the basement, she is getting a little more exercise and it helps her feel better. She actually jumps up on our bed now and other places which she didn’t have the energy to accomplish before. She is a beautiful girl and I am glad I found her.

Perzia is my sassy girl.  She is such a clown sometimes. She is a real lover when she wants to be. She is so soft, she feels like a mink. I lover her so much as well and am happy to have been allowed to also adopt her and add her to my furry family. She must have gone outside in the past because she begs to go outside all the time! We give in sometimes, but only for a little while and never with eyes taken off of her. She sticks around really well, but we still will not let her out unless she is by our side.

Thanks for caring for them and good luck with the others. I hope everyone finds a good home soon.

 Best Wishes
Zizi Warren, Livonia

Angel Delor

I love my dog so much. Her name is Angel. Everyone loves her - all the family and all my neighbors.

Angel Mayer

We adopted Angel (shelter name Barry) March 26, 2005.  She lives with three people, a hamster, and a Guinea Pig.

Her favorite toys are ‘Crabby’ that squeaks, ‘Bunny’, and ‘Lion’ that the kids gave to her.  Angel has been great. She has learned to sit and shake her paw for her favorite cookies.  Potty training is going pretty good - almost there!  She loves to go for walks and bask in the sun out in the yard.

She made friends with our Guinea Pig Bear and lays next to her cage a lot. She even made friends with the kitten next door.  She has been wonderful with all our family and gets lots of love and attention!!

 Thank you,
Deborah Mayer, Allen Park

Betsy Lindemann

Dear Dearborn Animal Shelter,

Thank you for all your kind help to me while I was a stray.

My new Mom picked me up from Caputo Animal Hospital yesterday (7/6/05) after my surgery for spaying and having a tumor removed. Boy was I happy to see her!

Mom let me ride in the front seat to pick up my new Dad from work.

Mom and Dad are really nice to me.  I also have a canine sister who is a 5½ year old Dachshund. Angel sure can be bossy! I also have three feline siblings.  Elvis is 7 years old, Bear is 3 years old, and Molley is the baby at 1 year.  They are still scared of me even through I try to be friends.

I’m sure given time my new family will be really nice. In the mean time I’m enjoying Mom spoiling the heck out of me.

Thanks again,
Betsy

Blue Blasius

Hi everyone!!

Its blue I am writing (well mom is writing) to tell you I am fine. I have been going to the vet, I got over the cough, now I have the sniffles. Mom gives me yucky medicine every day an now I am getting better. I am sending you the pictures of my new family. I love it here, mom gives lots of hugs and kisses which I guess is ok. Dad play with Hershey and me every day.

Well, on to the pictures:

 - Picture 1 is my big brother Hershey, he is older but we are the same size. (I just let him think he is bigger) We are on this big pillow that we like to share. As you can see we have lots of toys, mom does not get mad if we don’t pick up our toys.

- Picture 2 is me playing with one of many toys

- Picture 3 That’s Hershey and Me playing rough like boys like to do. Mom had to put puppy pads down in the beginning but now I do not need them.

 - Picture 4 That is me posing for the camera, mom has to tie me because I like to explore, she will stay out with me and when I go back in I get treats. I love those treats.

 - Picture 5. That’s Hershey and me playing in the snow. I love the snow, Hershey says its ok, but it makes his feet cold. Mom says when it gets better weather we get to go to the school next door to play and run, that sounds like fun.

And the last picture is our dad playing with us. We love dad, he plays with us after work. We get all the toys out and we play tug-o-war, that fun. And we also get chew sticks when dad gets tired of playing.

Well, I have to go. It’s suppertime and I can’t miss supper.

Thank you for finding my new family

Love,  Blue Blasius
Blue was a 10 months dog when he was adopted in January 05.

Brandy Warman

Enclosed is a check in memory of Donna Wobig, who passed away February 1.  She was a great friend who helped me Calesta  (now know as Brandy) through many illnesses in the first few months after adopting her  from the shelter August 27.

Donna was a great dog lover and asked to see Brandy three days before she died.  They were great buddies and she gave Brandy one final hug.

The picture is of Brandy in the party hat and Gin Gin.

Chi Chi Gush

Chi Chi is an 11 month old cat that lives with three people and four other pets in his new home.

It took Chi Chi about four weeks to calm down.  He loves to play with his friend Bob Cat. Chi Chi loves to talk; he always has something to say. He also loves to play with Maggie Do.  Chi Chi can be found sleeping in his favorite chair throughout the day He thinks he owns it.  He also likes to play with string and cat toys.

Copper Monroe

Copper (formerly Elvis at the shelter) is 9 months old (2/2005) in this photo.  He is sitting in his favorite spot - on the couch in front of the window.  He loves to watch people and other dogs outside.  He also loves walks and playing frisbee in the snow.

David and Angela Monroe, Dearborn (adopted 12/2004).

Eduardo "Eddie" Richmond

Eduardo ‘Eddie’ was called Noah at the shelter but he didn’t answer to that name so we changed it.  He now lives with three people and one dog in Melvindale. He adjusted right away to us and the house.  I was concerned because he had been in the shelter for about a year. He is very good, learned his new name within a week and gets along very well with everyone. He has been very well behaved, no accidents and if he starts to scratch furniture and is told no, he will stop. We are happy to have him and he is happy to be here with us.

Frankie Church

01-06-05

Dear Mrs. Greene & Mrs. Cote,

I've been meaning to srite you but many things - surgery on my spine Oct 21, holidays, bills, and ...!  As you can see from the pictures, Frankie as a year old Nov. 24.  We brought her home on Jan 24, 2004.  She is fixed and declawed in the front.  She is the first I've spayed.

Stripe will be 17 years old in March 05.  I found him downstate before we moved up here.  He came out from a building under my car!  I tried to find the owner.  I took him home, put him in a box, with a note to my husband -- He's not staying!!  Also because there were two other cats already at home.  My first cat was just after we were married.  A lady came around the corner in a Cadillac and threw him out the window!!  That was on the east side of Saginaw.  Two other orange tabbies were left behind by people who moved.  Mine are on leashes because I've lost 2 being hit by cars on State St.

Frankie was named by my youngest brother (Frankie Yankvic) - his Polka King.  My brother has 44 years old with Downs Syndrome.

I hope you enjoy the pictures - we enjoy and love all the pets I have or have had.  It's very expensive up here, but I feed all the critters in the backyard.  I hope you understand the pictures and letter.

Thank you,
Mary Church, Traverse City

ps - Frankie loves the snow!!  She'll get right into it.  The last pictures she was trying to get a chipmunk under the deck!

Frasier Sarazin

I adopted Frasier (he was Johnson at the shelter) in November 2004. He is now six months old. He lives with me in Howell, Michigan. His favorite activities are watching fish in the fish tank and deer in the backyard.

Frasier was what I consider a typical ‘stray’, very small and sick when I first brought him home. He suffered a runny nose, mites, and fleas. He is so thankful to have a home! He shows his appreciation every day and he is a joy to have. I’ve enclosed pictures.

Andrea Sarazin, Howell (adopted Nov. 2004)

Isabelle

We adopted Isabelle (she was Dottie at the shelter), a two year old cat in December 2004. Now she lives with five people in Redford.

Isabelle is a great cat. She is loveable, playful and very nice. She is eating well, she has put on weight.

She likes to be petted, she purrs when I pet her. She also purrs when she is brushed, she likes that too. She likes belly rubs and having her ears scratched.

She sleeps in my bed, She is pretty,

Thank you I love her

Joe CiCirelli

Jolene Tamsen

We adopted Jolene, a four year old dog, on May 27, 2005. She now shares a home with five people and one other pet. She loves to play tug–o-war and fetch with her squeaky ball. This has been the best match.  Aside from her stomach upset and recovering from her surgeries she is doing great.  She is very loving and intelligent. She loves to give hugs and kiss you.  We are all adjusting very well to this wonderful animal that has come into our home.

Mary Tamsen, Allen Park

Jones Troyan

We adopted Jones (shelter name was Fresno) a kitten, on July 30, 2005.  He is 11 weeks old now. His favorite toy is a catnip toy on a string. He shares his home with two people and one other pet.

Talullah Lopinski

Talullah (shelter name was Alice), a 16 month old cat, was adopted December 8 2004.  Her favorite toy is a small fur grey mouse. She throws in a grocery brown paper bag!

Because she was in a cage for so long she was very wild when I brought her home. But after two months she is adjusting to her new big surroundings.

Talullah also loves looking out the windows at the world outside and taking afternoon naps on top of my recliner, but most of all she play with her new toys for hours. She has so much energy! Plus she loves to explore every new thing in her new home.
