Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter. This is your chance to help homeless animals find permanent homes. You can meet other animal lovers like yourself who believe in our mission. Plus, volunteering is a rewarding and fun experience. We offer training, flexibility, and a variety of opportunities to match your interests.

Steps

1.      We require that all new volunteers complete a Volunteer Application and pre-register for a volunteer orientation. All orientations are held at the Shelter Conference Trailer adjacent to the shelter at 2661 Greenfield, Dearborn.  Complete the application and register for orientation:

IMPORTANT:  If orientation dates are full or do not work with your schedule, please exit the application and complete the waiting list below.

2.      APPLICANTS AGES 12 – 17 ONLY. Your parent or guardian must also sign the Volunteer Release and Save Harmless Agreement. Print a copy and bring to the orientation. Copies will also be available at orientation. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO VOLUNTEER UNTIL THE SIGNED FORM IS TURNED IN.

3.      Review the appropriate volunteer handbook. You need not print it but might want to refer to it online from time to time.
